It is business as usual, claims Congress

With tall claims being made by the Opposition-led National Democratic Alliance of carrying out a 'successful' bandh, Congress leaders countered  asserting that it had not been successful. Speaking to Millennium Post, Law and Minority affairs minister Salman Khurshid, said, 'We went about with business as usual on Thursday. Every one in this country has the right to protest and demonstrate in order to express their views on any issue concerning them. What is sense of agitating economic loss, when you yourself are casing economic loss yourself to the country. If they find this as the best way to articulate their perspective then we will not be distracted by it. We are willing to anyone on any issue , but we will  not compromise on fundamental principles. We have brought in FDI not for the rich, but for the poor.' I&B minister Ambika Soni hit out at the Opposition saying, 'We are surprised that allies  are sitting on dharna with the opposition, because if they are part of the government then they are privy to also all the decisions taken by the government. PM Manmohan Singh is not heading a minority government, our numbers are more than 300.'
