Cong website pulled down by miffed administrator

As the election season peaks in the national Capital with the battle between the AAP and the BJP intensifying, the Congress seems far behind in resolving its internal bickering. At a time when major political players in the capital are focusing on their campaigns and rallies, the Congress faced a huge embarrassment on Wednesday as its state unit’s official website was pulled down as the site administrator Sanjay Puri decided to quit from his post.

Speaking to Millennium Post, Kiran Walia who is the Congress’ candidate from New Delhi said, “It is very unfortunate that this incident took place. During election time many candidates are not given tickets to fight and after that their frustration comes out. Whatever might be the reason for this behaviour, he (Sanajy Puri) should have exercised restraint.” Meanwhile, her party colleague PC Chacko downplayed the incident. “Congress Sandesh’s website was maintained by him personally. I don’t want to comment on that. The DPCC website is fully functional.”

Reportedly Puri took this drastic step after he was denied a ticket by the party. And thus reacted by pulling down the webpage. When you log onto - www.dpcc.co.in - the message being displayed reads, “This site with doman name DPCC.CO.IN was designed, developed and maintained by Shri Sanjay Puri since 2008 (Member Congress Campaign Committee, DPCC, 2015).
