Cong flays Naidu, Pawar for backing Ramdev

The Congress has come down strongly on yoga guru Ramdev's meeting with Telugu Desam Party [TDP] president N Chandrababu Naidu and Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar to garner support for his fight against corruption and black money.

After the Prime Minister's Office [PMO] shot off an incisive letter to Hazare and his camp, even the Congress reacted strongly dismissing Ramdev's meeting with Naidu and Pawar.

Highly placed sources in the Congress told Millennium Post that they are not affected by Ramdev's meeting with Naidu and Pawar. 'We are not at all affected or concerned about Ramdev's meeting with Chandrababu Naidu or even Sharad Pawar,' a source said. 'It is indeed laughable that Chandrababu Naidu and Sharad Pawar are talking about fight against corruption. We do not think this is an issue worth reacting to.'

Earlier, the internal fight between anti-graft activist Anna Hazare's aide Arvind Kejriwal and yoga guru Ramdev had hit the headlines, post which Ramdev has been on a rampage, meeting various party leaders. Ramdev had met Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP] president Nitin Gadkari, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Recently Ramdev also met Telugu Desam Party [TDP] president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday morning, to garner support for his anti-corruption campaign.

In what has been viewed as a major embarrassment to the Congress, Ramdev also met Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar, who also supported him, calling his views on black money to be 'pragmatic'.
