Chhattisgarh meet may spark huge job creation

The recently concluded global investors' summit and exhibition held at Naya Raipur witnessed a massive turnout of investors and was attended by the who's who of India Inc. Nearly 1,22,419 crore is being invested in Chhattisgarh, with over 6,30,000 employment opportunities generated at this summit.

The event witnessed more than 5,000 participants from various sectors.

The young and resource-rich state, which also happens to be one of the fastest growing in India, brought out new policies in various sectors which include information technology (IT) and IT-enabled services (ITES), the agro- and food processing industry, automobile and engineering, real estate and solar power.

The two-day mega event focused on garnering investment for Chhattisgarh and also on generating employment opportunities for the people of the state.

More than 300 MoUs were signed, which have the potential to create more than 6,30,000 employment opportunities. Excited at the success of the investment summit, a beaming Chief Minister Raman Singh said, ‘This event has gotten a lot of investors for the state of Chhattisgarh, which is a pro-industry haven.' 'The turnout of more than 500 investors signifies the inherent strength and attraction of this state,' he added.

Speaking about the successful summit, Chhattisgarh Minister of Commerce and Industries Rajesh Munat said, ‘We at this meet focused on the non-core sectors and received a great response.’

The event was attended by several captains of business giants, including Essar Group Chairman S N Ruia, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, Jindal Steel Chairman Naveen Jindal,and Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal.
