ZeeQ partners BBC Worldwide to bring CBeebies back to India

Edutainment channel ZeeQ on Tuesday said that it has partnered with BBC Worldwide to bring a time band of programmes from BBC's preschool brand - CBeebies - to Indian audience.

The licence agreement will see ZeeQ airing preschoolers' CBeebies programmes from 1 July.
'Our viewers will be able to watch Teletubbies (live action series aimed at preschoolers aged zero to three years), 3rd & Bird (animated series for 3-5 years) and Charlie and Lola,' ZeeQ Business Head Subhadarshi Tripathy said.
The shows will be dubbed in Hindi for the channel's dual language feed. ZeeQ currently caters to the 4-14 year age segment and this association will help tap the pre-school segment as well (0-3 years) and strengthen its current portfolio of programmes, Tripathy said.

Currently, the channel airs a mix of live action and animated shows. It reaches about 20 million households.
Some of its prominent shows include Teenovation, Science with BrainCafe, Amar Chitra Katha Heroes, Sid the Science Kid, The Weekly Wrap, Word Match and MI Four- The Multiple Intelligence quiz.
