Youth thrashed, legs chopped off

Miscreants on Sunday threw a youth on railway tracks at Tangra after beating him up and chopping off his legs. The incident took place on Sunday morning.

Police said the victim Rahul Roy is a resident of Debendra Chandra Dey Road. He had been staying somewhere else for the past few months. On Sunday the miscreants had attacked him when he came to meet his family members. The accused caught him when he was heading towards his and dragged him inside an abandoned factory. They beat him up till he fell unconscious and later took him to the railway tracks, where both of his legs were chopped off. The accused had left him on the tracks when he was crying for help. Receiving information that Roy was being beaten up, some of his friends rushed to the railway tracks along with his family members. Finding them the accused fled leaving Roy crying for help. The victim’s family members and friends took him to NRS Medical College and Hospital where he was admitted and undergoing treatment at present. A complaint has been lodged with Tangra police station in this connection. The Government Railway Police is also looking into the incident.
