Youth shot at following scuffle

A youth Biswajit Das was shot at following a scuffle at Karbala in Hooghly late night on Saturday. Police arrested his friend Prosenjit Nandi and seized a country made gun from him. He was initially admitted to Imambara Hospital and later shifted to Calcutta Medical College and Hospital. 

Police came to know that he met some of his friends including Prosenjit when the former was returning from his work. They were discussing on certain things when suddenly a scuffle broke out between Prosenjit and Biswajit. He opened fire. Biswajit received bullet injuries on his right leg. 

In 2012, a 26-year-old youth was shot dead by two of his associates in Ichhapur near Noapara in North 24-Parganas after a drunken brawl broke out between them. Police, who say the victim also had a criminal past, are looking for the culprits. No one has been arrested in this connection yet.

The incident took place around 6.30 pm. In the afternoon, the victim, identified as Bikash Jadav, a resident of Arabinda Pally in Ichhapur, went to a restobar at Badamtala with his two friends on a motorbike.
