Youth masquerading as Railways officer arrested from Malda station

Krishnendu Dey (28) who used to travel in long distance trains by posing as a senior Railways official has been arrested by the police at Malda station.

Police said that some Railways officials suspected that the accused was not a Railways official as he 
sometimes used to claim himself to be DCM, sometimes ACM and ADRM.

Police came to know in the interrogation that the accused is a resident of Jholjhoria area of Malda and works as a medical representative.

His father, Nanigopal Dey is a retired Railways official. As a result of this, he had knowledge about the functioning of some Railways officials.

He used to introduce himself as a senior official while travelling and used to avail various benefits.

After repeated incidents, the Railways officials chased after him. In the face of interrogation the accused admitted his guilt.

Police have started a detailed probe into the incident. A police officer said that on the basis of the complaint lodged by the Railways, the accused has been arrested.
