Youth kills self for not being allowed to go on Kanwaria Yatra

A 21-year-old youth was found hanging from a ceiling fan in south Delhi's Sangam Vihar area late on Wednesday night. No suicide note has been recovered.
The victim has been identified as Narendra, alias Sonu, who used to work in a private hospital in Delhi.
The incident was reported to the police at approximately 8.35 am on Thursday, when the youth’s mother went to wake him up.
According to the youth’s parents, Narendra committed suicide after they refused to allow him to go to Haridwar as part of the Kanwaria Yatra or pilgrimage. The victim's grandmother had earlier died this year, which made his parents forbid him from going to Haridwar this year. They had reportedly told him that he may go next year. Post mortem report is awaited.
