Youth held for raping minor girl in Lake Town

Police have arrested a youth on charges of raping a minor girl. The incident occurred at Bagda area of North 24 Parganas when the victim girl visited her maternal uncle house.

The family members of the victim came to know about the incident on Friday and lodged a complaint in the local police station on the basis of which police arrested the accused.

The victim’s mother visited her parental house two days ago with her two children. That night, she took her mother to a nearby market when the victim remained at home with her younger brother. 

The accused Prasenjit Pandey gave his mobile phone to the boy and invited him play mobile phone games. 

As a result of this the victim’s brother was engrossed in playing games. Taking advantage of this the accused allegedly took the minor to another room and raped her. He eventually fled the house after committing the crime. On their return home, the victim’s mother came to know about the incident.
