Youth held for posting obscene photos of girl online

Police have arrested a youth from the city on the charges of posting objectionable photographs of a girl on a social networking site.

Police said that the accused Krishna Shankar, a resident of Entally area was trying to blackmail the 
victim for quite some time after he came in contact with the her on the social networking site.

The accused, a college student allegedly manipulated the photographs in Photoshop and uploaded 
them in the social networking site.

Police came to know in the investigation that the accused used to chat with the victim girl who is a resident of Tiljala area.

The victim, however, claimed before the police that her Facebook account was hacked by the accused last June and she had no connection with the accused on Facebook.

She also told the police that the accused changed the password of her Facebook account after hacking it.

As a result of this incident, the girl did not have access to her account.

She then opened another Facebook account and started interacting with her friends through the new account.

The accused by the help of technology made some obscene photographs and uploaded them in the old account.

He later started to circulate them in the newly created account of the victim resulting in a huge embarrassment for the victim.

The accused also demanded Rs 10,000 from the victim and threatened her by saying that he would continue with uploading pictures if his demands were not met.

Having found no option, the victim finally decided to lodge a complaint with the police.

After receiving the compliant, the cyber crime department of the city police started an investigation.

They carried out a search for the accused youth and arrested him from his residence on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim. Police have started a probe in this regard.
