Youth found dead on friend’s terrace, cops say he was drunk

A 25-year-old youth was allegedly found dead under mysterious circumstances at the terrace of his neighbour’s house in Outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri area on Thursday morning. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Sukhbir.

Sources said that police found out in the medical examination of Sukhbir that he was allegedly in an inebriated state. 

This was further corroborated by his relatives with whom he lived. They told cops that Sukhbir was a habitual drinker.

A labourer in a nearby factory, he lived in a rented accommodation in Mangolpuri with his cousins.

While his cousins were asleep, he allegedly slipped and fell on the terrace of the adjacent building.

Police said it was only at around 6 am on Thursday morning that a neighbour saw him lying in a pool of blood that he raised an alarm and informed his relatives. 

Based on which, one of the relatives informed the police after which a team of local police rushed 

Sukhbir to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Doctors, meanwhile, informed cops that in the preliminary examination, they found that the victim was drunk.

Police, meanwhile, have informed family members of Sukhbir who live in Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. 

He is survived by his wife, two children and parents. Police will hand over Sukhbir’s body to his family once they arrive in Delhi.
