Yamuna Expressway accident: All four passengers killed on spot

The over stressing on a fatigued driver orphaned two teenagers in Ghaziabad on Monday morning at around 8am.

According to the police, the driver was driving the car from Patna to Ghaziabad and rammed into a stationary truck on Yamuna Expressway. Both the parents and grandmother, along with the driver, were travelling in the car when it collided with the truck container on Yamuna expressway. All the four passengers died on the spot. The family and neighbors are in mourning and now concerned for the two teenagers.

According to Ram Bhawan Singh, SHO, Ecotech-1 police station, “The incident occurred around 8am and a passerby informed us about it.”

“The visibility was normal on Monday. It might be that the driver of the car was feeling tired as they were on a long journey by road. The driver have dozed off and lost his control over the fast moving car. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post mortem and reports are awaited. Legal actions will be taken against those found at fault” Singh added.

“The victims were identified as Javed Ahmad (30), Manoj Kumar Sinha(53), Usha (74) and Soni Sinha (50). 

Javed was driving the car and he was a resident of Jamia Nagar, Delhi.

Sub-Inspector, Nand Kishor from Ecotech-1 police station, who reached the spot, told Millennium Post that through the impact of the collision; it seemed that the car was being driven beyond the permitted speed limit. The silver colored Alto car was almost completely damaged. It took us around half an hour to retrieve the bodies from the car.

The accident occurred 7km before Zero Point opposite the NIIT building. The case is investigated by Ecotech 1 police station. Police said the victims were returning from Patna, Bihar and were going back to Indirapuram, Ghaziabad.

Manoj Kumar Sinha, a resident of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, was working in a leading cement industry and was travelling in the car with his wife and mother-in-law. The son of deceased Manoj Sinha is 17 years old and has completed class 12 this year while the daughter is 15 years old and is appearing in class 10th from a private school.
