Yadav Singh case: CBI raids 12 places

The CBI on Thursday raided 12 places in Noida and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh in a case pertaining to the Noida authority’s former chief engineer Yadav Singh, officials said.

The probe agency, which is investigating the Rs 995 crore scam against Yadav Singh, searched the residences and offices of four firms in Ghaziabad and Noida and its directors.

The CBI on August 4 registered two cases against Yadav Singh on the directions of the Allahabad High Court.

The Lucknow bench of the high court had ordered a CBI probe on July 16 into charges of corruption and irregularities against the official.

The Noida authority in 2012, soon after the Samajwadi Party stormed to power in Uttar Pradesh, had lodged a first information report (FIR) in Noida against Yadav Singh, accusing him in the scam.

However, in 2013, the state government moved the probe from police to the CB-CID which in 2015 gave the official a clean chit.
