Queen Elizabeth II deeply saddened by Notre-Dame fire

London: Queen Elizabeth II on Tuesday said she was "deeply saddened" by the devastating fire that ripped through Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris in a message to French President Emmanuel Macron.

"Prince Philip and I have been deeply saddened to see the images of the fire which has engulfed Notre-Dame Cathedral," Queen Elizabeth said, adding:

"My thoughts and prayers are with those who worship at the Cathedral and all of France at this difficult time".
