‘Won’t be surprised if two more AAP MLAs arrested’

The Aam Aadmi Party attacked the BJP government on Thursday for treating its party members like terrorists. The party also alleged that two more of its lawmakers might be arrested in near future.

"Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla and MLA Sharad Chauhan Narela have both been getting threatening calls from the Delhi Police. I won't be surprised if they are arrested soon," AAP senior leader Ashutosh alleged. “I have got to know from my sources that Rakhi and Chauhan may also be arrested by this evening. But we just want to say that the country is watching all this and Modiji we are not scared of anything,” he added.

According to the list, 11 AAP MLAs have been arrested while two of them were arrested within 12 hours, one accused of trying to run a woman over and another for discriminating the Quran in Punjab.  He said that Sharad Chauhan was grilled for more than nine hours in the alleged suicide of the party worker Soni and was asked to take names of any of the senior leaders or he would suffer. 

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders have repeatedly accused the Narendra Modi government of using the Delhi Police to persecute members of Aam Aadmi Party. Ashutosh linked it to the Punjab elections scheduled for early next year.

“Before the Punjab elections, most of us will be behind bars. Other political parties should understand, what is happening to us today will happen to them tomorrow," he said.

Speaking to Millennium Post on Una incident, Ashutosh said, “The situation of dalit in Gujarat is pathetic. Una-like incidents have not happend for the firts time, have taken place earlier also and the state police have evidence but they did not take any action regarding it. The Una incident became a national issue. We have also been told by the villagers that these issues are regular occurrences in those areas. 

He said, “There are 109 villages of dalits under protection of police. This proves that dalits residing there are haunted by BJP goons there and these situations happening even under police supervision. This shows that BJP and Patel have agenda against dalit AAP will fight for the justice of dalit people there who are suffering. We are doing small rallies to aware and achieve our measures”.
