Woman Sub-Inspector falls sick after judge calls her corrupt; files plaint

A Delhi Police woman Sub-Inspector, posted at the Nangloi police station has allegedly complained against an additional sessions judge of the Tis Hazari court accusing him of “verbally abusing and misbehaving with her”. 

Sources said that the woman Sub-Inspector on being called corrupt allegedly got so sick that she started vomiting and within a few minutes fainted in the court premises. Sources said that she somehow managed to go to a government hospital from where she made a PCR call and informed the area police about the same. Senior police officers of the North district said that they have taken cognisance of the complaint filed by the female Sub-Inspector and are initiating a probe in the matter.

Sources said that in a written complaint submitted at the Subzi Mandi police station, the woman Sub-Inspector who is posted at the Nangloi police station in West district has alleged that P K Mattoo, an additional sessions judge in the North Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court called her “corrupt” and “threatened to call her DCP and other senior officers” after the victim in a case failed to appear in the court, she told police. The incident took place at around 11.30 am in the Tis Hazari Court.

She has alleged that she fainted after the judge scolded her and was taken to the Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital from 

where she made a PCR call at around noon. She has submitted a medical certificate along with her complaint which states that she suffered from “chest pain” and “vomiting” because of the “verbal misbehaviour”, police said.

A senior police official said that they have received a complaint and an inquiry has been initiated in to the matter. Further investigation is underway.
