Woman SI booked for forging senior’s signature

A woman sub-inspector has been booked for allegedly using forged signature of her senior for disposing of <g data-gr-id="19">cheating</g> case.

The woman sub-inspector had allegedly forged the signature of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) M Harshwardhan, posted at the Dabri sub-division, on documents that were to be furnished before a court, the police said.

The 35-year-old sub-inspector was found have used the forged signature in three other cases too, they said. 

“The matter became known when Harshwardhan found his signature on a file relating to a case of cheating. Suspicious of it, the ACP carried out an initial probe. It came to light that <g data-gr-id="22">same</g> signature was used in three more cases. The investigating officer in all four cases was sub-inspector Kavita, who was attached to the Palam police station then,” said a senior police officer investigating the case.
