Woman rescued from brothel

A man, with  assistance from Central district police, rescued a 23-year-old woman from a brothel at GB Road, who was trafficked from Maharashtra on the pretext of getting job in the capital.

According to police, the accused pimp, identified as Meena, has been arrested. ‘The victim is a mother of a minor girl and native of Maharashtra.  She met Meena who lured her  to Delhi and took her to brothel number 40 at GB Road, where she was held  captive,’ said a police official.  A man, who went to the brothel recently,  met the victim and after knowing about her plight, reported the matter to police. A team then raided the brothel number and rescued the victim and her daughter ‘Meena has been booked under relevant provisions of IPC at Kamla Market police station and the victim has been sent to Nari Niketan,’ said the police.
