A 25-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries when she allegedly jumped in front of a running train at the Yamuna Bank Metro Station on Sunday evening. The deceased has been identified as Anjali, police said.
According to the Metro police, the incident took place around 6:20 pm, when Anjali jumped before a running train, going towards Vaishali, at the Yamuna Bank Metro Station. The police recovered a mobile phone, a Metro smart card and some cash from her purse.
According to police sources, Anjali’s family was going from Mandi House to Vaishali when she de-boarded at the Yamuna Bank Metro Station and took the extreme step. Police said the victim was upset over talks in her family to get her married off.
