Woman gang-raped in Jamuria

Criminals gang-raped a 35-year-old women and tried to kill her at Jamuria in Burdwan district early on Saturday morning. The victim was admitted to the Asansol District Hospital in an unconscious state. Police have started an investigation.

A police team led by Barun Baidya, ACP, Asansol-Durgapur reached the spot and talked to the family members of the victim. The victim stays with her mother along with her four children. Early Saturday morning, she had come out of her home when some criminals took her near a bush at gunpoint, gang-raped her and tried to kill her by smashing her head with bamboo stick and stone. Hoping that she had died, the miscreants left. Some local people found her lying in the bushes in an unconscious state.
