Woman found murdered, cops suspect son’s role

A 55-year-old woman was found murdered under mysterious circumstances at her house in Southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area on Friday evening. According to the police, the deceased identified as Sunaina Aggrawal was found lying on the floor of her room. Sources said that the woman was found with a rope tied around her neck and polythene stuffed in her mouth. Meanwhile, senior investigating officers said that they have detained the elderly woman’s son, Tarun for questioning.

Police said that the incident came to light on Friday evening, when Sunaina was found dead by her son Tarun Aggarwal (34).

Sources said that Tarun used to stay with his mother at their house in B block, Ramphal Chowk, Sector 7, Dwarka. Tarun, who works in a private company returned home from work and found that the main door of the house was locked. He tried calling his mother several times but his calls went unanswered after which the door was broke open.

He found his mother lying with a rope around her neck and polythene stuffed in her mouth. Based on which, police were informed. A senior officer said that a police team reached the spot and took the son’s statements. They have also procured the CCTV footages from the area and saw that her son was the only one entering the building, so we suspect that he may be involved in the incident.

Investigators said that while questioning Tarun, they found that he did not go to office on that day contrary to what he told us before. Meanwhile, the victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway.
