Woman found murdered at home in Mangolpuri

A 30-year-old woman was found dead with her throat slit inside her house in Outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri area on Tuesday. Police have hinted that the murder may be a fall out of an extra-marital affair.

According to the police, Pushpa, a homemaker, also had several other injury marks on her arms and chest.

The incident came to fore when her husband returned home and found the house locked from inside. He waited for her for a few hours and later climbed down the stairs, and saw that the light inside the house was on.

Thinking that his wife may have returned, he tried to gain entry in the house. He later thought of breaking in by the window and managed to get a glimpse of Pushpa’s legs.

“He claimed he panicked and broke the window to get inside. When he went to the room, he found Pushpa dead. Her throat was slit and body was soaked in blood. He then raised an alarm and also made a PCR call,” a senior police officer said.

The police team reached the spot and took the woman to the hospital. Her body was then sent for a post-mortem.

During investigation the police team visited the crime scene and found that the house was not ransacked. The police suspect the involvement of an insider in the case.

“The house had an automated door, and the entry was not forced. The deceased also gave a glass of water to the accused which was half full. There are also signs of struggle in the house,” the official added.

The police have also asked some of her relatives and her husband to join the probe.
