Woman found dead in house, parents blame in-laws

A 42-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her house in the Farsh Bazaar area of East Delhi on Monday morning. 

According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Seema. Family members of Seema alleged that her husband strangled her to death, meanwhile, her husband and his family alleged that she was ill for the past few weeks.

Police said that they received a call at around 10 am from the Bholanath Nagar in Farsh Bazaar area from Seema’s brother. Her brother alleged that he got a call from his brother-in-law, Bharat, that his sister, Seema died due to illness. However, Seema’s family alleged that she was tortured by her in-laws and that her husband had allegedly strangled her with his hands.

Police reached to the spot and rushed body to a mortuary at a nearby government hospital. Meanwhile, police said that they are going to initiate action after the post-mortem reports come out.

Sources said that Seema is survived by two daughters. They allegedly told police that their mother was ill for the past few weeks. They further denied that their father harassed their mother. Sources further said that both Seema and Bharat worked in the MCD.
