Woman falls to death from her apartment

Mystery shrouds the death of a 28-year-old housewife who died after falling from the fourth floor of a residential apartment at New Alipore on Monday afternoon. The police are yet to ascertain whether it is a case of suicide or there is any foul play behind the incident. The local people in the Saha colony area-- where the incident had taken place--told the police that they heard a loud thud and the scream of a woman following which they rushed to the spot.

They found the woman lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to the SSKM Hospital where the doctors pronounced her brought dead. Police are interrogating the victim’s husband to ascertain the reason behind the death of the victim. Police are not ruling out the possibility of any foul play behind the death of the woman. They are also investigating whether there was any quarrel between the husband and wife over any issue. The investigating officers are waiting for the autopsy report which will throw some light on the mysterious death of a woman. A probe has been initiated in this connection.
