Woman among 2 held for attempt to murder

The Delhi Police have arrested a woman and a man on the charges of plotting to murder a 30-year-old man. The police said the duo had planned to eliminate the man, after the latter came to know about the woman’s relationship with his friend.

The police said the accused were identified as Shiv Kumari and Md Wasir. The police are trying to apprehend another accused, Ganja, who is on the run. The police found a man with slit throat in a DDA Park in the Gandhi Vihar area on August 14. The man was identified as one Rahul, they added. “We found that Rahul, a driver, was a marijuana addict,” said a senior police official.

The police said Rahul had met Shiv Kumari in February this year, while he used to work as a van driver in a Burari school, where Kumari worked as a teacher. Kumari, who was already married, had an illicit relationship with Rahul, who was 15 years younger to her, the police said.

Soon, Rahul was dismissed from the job, after he had an altercation with the school principal. But Kumari and Rahul stayed in touch. The police said Rahul had borrowed money from Kumari, with which he had planned to buy a car. Rahul befriended Wasir, who used to work as a porter with a cold drink distributor company at the Old Delhi Railway Station.

The police said once Rahul had borrowed Rs 22,000 from Wasir on the pretext of buying a car. When Kumari was at her parent’s house in Chhatisgarh, Rahul used Wasir’s phone to call her. After Kumari returned from Chhatisgarh, Wasir allegedly visited her house three-four times and they too became intimate and Wasir gave her a cellphone with his photo in it. The police said one day Rahul took Kumari’s phone and learnt that she was cheating on him. 

He allegedly threatened Wasir and asked him to stay away from Kumari. Wasir, in turn, asked Rahul to return his money and said that only then he would snap ties with Kumari. Irked over Rahul’s constant interference, Kumari and Wasir plotted to eliminate the former. They even sought the help of Ganja, a vagabond, in eliminating Rahul. On August 13, Kumari called Rahul to meet her at the Gandhi Vihar park where Ganja and Wasir were already present. Wasir strangulated Rahul, and then, he along with Ganja slit his throat.
