Witty King Khan rocks media, fans on his birthday

There were long queues of buses and cars jamming the roads leading to the superstar’s seaside bungalow where massive crowds kept chanting his name and beating drums, while girls held placards with his photos and kept shouting ‘Shah Rukh, we love you.’

The crowd roared with delight when the actor emerged atop the high gates and greeted them with folded hands. The crowd went wild with excitement when he began to jiggle his hips in typical filmy fashion and many of them followed suit.

The actor later changed into white shirt and blue jeans before settling down to exchange witty repartees and narrate amusing anecdotes to his media audience. Noting that he was not used to celebrating his birthday, the actor said he was humbled to see people coming with gifts from far off – to wish him on his birthday.

The actor had the media virtually following his every move including when he took a camera and went up to his gallery from where he began to click photos of the crowd standing below, who in turn were shooting his antics while cheering him on.

‘I got up late today as my children were partying but had called to wish me at midnight. People kept coming whole night and leaving gifts at the gate, many of them from around the world including Germany… I took these gifts to my room and my library and will look at them in my leisure. I will lie awake with my children and open each gift myself.’

‘I like gifts and awards like an 8-year-old running a race. Many of my friends and fans say “what can we give him who has everything?” That’s wrong. I will be happy with anything... even with an antique car, chhota-mota bungalow, gaadi etc. I say “give him more of everything”, he said as the gathering howled with laughter.
