Win at least 60 seats in LS polls, Mulayam tells workers

Apprehending that the Lok Sabha elections might be announced any time, the Samajwadi Party has called upon the rank and file to sink their differences and get ready to bag at least 60 seats. This would enable SP to play a decisive role in the formation of the next government at the centre, national chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said in a meeting of party MLAs and other office bearers at the state party headquarters.

Yadav said after election both the UPA and the NDA might get disintegrated which will pave the way for the SP to occupy power.

The SP supremo asked party legislators to give him names of those ministers and officials who were not paying attention to the problems of the MLAs and other party leaders.

According to sources, Yadav also announced that he will soon convene a meeting of the ministers to apprise them about their responsibilities. ‘I will ask ministers to give proper response to MLAs and other party leaders. This is the time to sink our differences and work unitedly to win maximum Lok Sabha seats. This can be accomplished only when we fight united,’ he said.

At the meeting, many legislators complained about non-responsive attitude of the bureaucracy.

The CM assured them that their problems would be addressed soon. He also asked MLAs and party leaders to apprise him of the negligent attitude of the officials.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party has demanded that Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal should be removed from the cabinet for his involvement in the coal scam. SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav said if Jaiswal refused to resign, the Prime Minister should dismiss him.
