Will welcome Rahul as PM anytime: Manmohan

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday said that he would welcome Rahul Gandhi as PM anyday. Talking to reporters at the sidelines of a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan to give away Padma awards, Singh, in a reply to a question on whether he welcomed Gandhi as prime minister, said on Thursday.
Gandhi, who was appointed as vice-president of Congress in January, has been reluctant to join the government.
Even on Thursday he dubbed as ‘irrelevant’ the questions over whether he would become the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister was also asked to comment on Rahul Gandhi’s speech at the CII to which he remarked, ‘excellent’.
