Will Sonia, Rahul seek bail? Cong keeps it under wraps

The Congress on Thursday kept up the suspense on if Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi would seek bail after appearing before a city court on Saturday in the National Herald case.

“Still there are two days. Lot of time.....(for the decision decision to be taken) on the spot. It will be taken in accordance with what advice the lawyers will give,” Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said.

He was asked whether the Gandhis, who have been summoned by the court, would seek bail as there was speculation that they would not do so to draw political mileage out of it. They have been summoned by the trial court on prima facie charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating, criminal breach of trust and dishonest misappropriation of property under relevant sections of the law.
