Will Deepika get third time lucky?

After two back-to-back hits, Deepika Padukone is gearing up for the release of Ram Leela' and producer Ronnie Screwvala hopes the actress once again scores big at the box office with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed extravaganza. This year Deepika wowed with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which was followed by the grand success of Screwvala-produced Chennai Express, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan.

Ram Leela will see the fresh pair of Deepika and Ranveer Singh and the actors’ online chemistry has already become the talk of the town ever since the film’s promos and songs have come out. 

Releasing 15 November, Ram Leela is Deepika’s fourth movie this year, including Race 2. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious film Ram-Leela has been facing controversies ever since its trailer was released. On Thursday, Ahmedabad police detained over 40 people from the Rajput community who protested against Ram-Leela actress Deepika Padukone. 

The protestors alleged that their community was ‘misrepresented’ in Bhansali’s upcoming film. They insisted that the film, which is a desi version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, should not be released in Gujarat. They also filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Gujarat High Court seeking a ban on the film’s release in the state, sources reported. ians
