A 30-year-old man was allegedly thrashed to death by his wife and brother-in-law in West Delhi’s Mayapuri area on Thursday.  According to a senior police official of the West district, the deceased has been identified as Dhirendra Bhadoria.

A resident of Sagarpur area, Dhirendra had gone to his in-laws house at Mayapuri in Phase II.
On Thursday night, when he went to his in-laws house, he got angry as his brother-in-law did not touch his feet to pay him respect.

Investigators said that Dhirendra had gone to Mayapuri to persuade his wife who had left his house six months back. She was living with her brother, allegedly due to her husband’s drinking habit.

According to the police, when his brother-in-law Gopal did not touch his feet, Dhirendra abused him.
This angered Gopal and his sister Geeta, who then started hitting Dhirendra.

Police further said that during the scuffle, Dhirendra suddenly collapsed to the floor. Police further said that Dhirendra was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Investigators said that Dhirendra was reportedly suffering from TB and was physically weak which could have led to his death during the fight.

Police said that they have sent Dhirendra’s body for post-mortem. There was no external injury on his body. A case of murder has been registered and the accused Gopal and Geeta were arrested. Further investigation in the matter is still on.
