Who ensured Telangana?

SONIA GANDHI BEHIND TELANGANA DECISION

It is not Manmohan Singh but the Congress president’s son who is calling the shots in the UPA government. While Manmohan Singh had no opinion, but the majority in the Congress was opposed to the formation of Telangana. It was Sonia and Sonia alone who ensured the formation of Telangana. After Ghulam Nabi Azad gave up on Andhra Pradesh, the charge was given to Rahul man Digvijaya Singh. Singh is said to be opposed to the formation of a new state in view of the fact that if Telangana is given the green signal, it would further enhance the demand for more states. In fact he was working on a different agenda. Diggy was in talks with the main enemy of the Congress, TDP’s Chandra Babu Naidu for an alliance in 2014, but he had to give in before Sonia’s determination to form Telangana. Her main purpose is that she wants to fulfill all her promises before 2014. After Food Security ordinance to be ratified in the monsoon session, in the winter session she would make Telangana a reality. The last one to come would be the women’s reservation bill before Congress goes to poll in May 2014.

WHY AMBIKA SONI IS JUST FOCUSSED ON UTTARAKHAND?

Ambika Soni, the most powerful general secretary in AICC, courtesy her closeness to the Congress president Sonia Gandhi, is playing safe and slow. After being made the general secretary, she comes at 10 in the morning and leaves by 2 pm, before the beat journalists of Congress descend on 24 Akbar Road. She is busy with the states under her charge, particularly Uttarakhand, which is facing a major natural catastrophe. She has already visited Uttarakhand twice and would be visiting it again. The Uttarakhand chief minister Vijay Bahuguna, who is unlikely to be replaced despite the growing demand for his sacking after his failure to deliver in the hours of crises, should thank only two powerful women who saved him. First was the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and second Ambika Soni.  The BJP leader’s diatribe against Bahuguna demanding his replacement was used by Soni to unite all the warring Congress factions and put a stop to their demand for Bahuguna’s removal.

LOST TELEGRAM TO MANISH TEWARI

The last telegram sent to Rahul Gandhi by the Doordarshan Anchor Aswani Mishra hogged a lot of limelight but what went unnoticed was the other telegram sent at the same time and same day by the DD staffers was to the I&B minister Manish Tiwari. But the telegram sent to Manish has been lost somewhere.
The suspicion in DD is that the telegram was deliberately thrown in the dustbin on the directives of the lawyer minister of telecommunication, who is legal rival of Manish Tewari.

DOPPING YOUR GUARD AT VIP WEDDINGS

The wedding reception of Rudrarani Sinha, the daughter of the CBI director Ranjit Sinha at his Janpath residence in Delhi was a grand public show. The entire Delhi’s who’s who came to bless the couple. The prime minister came, new chief justice of India also came, so did the law minister, the external affairs minister and the commerce minister, and many more ministers, and politicians including the leader of opposition Arun Jaitley. But what was shocking was the presence of certain politicians and bureaucrats under the CBI scanner for various cases. The main shocker was the presence of the ex coal minister Santosh Bagrodia, an accused in the coal allotment case. Bagrodia not only came, but was there for more than four hours. Among the bureaucrats present at the event was TKA alias Kutty Nair. But the most august guest it seems was the political secretary of the congress president Ahmad Patel. Patel as usual came late but perhaps he was the only one for whom the director rushed to receive at the gates. The other two were the PM and the CJI.

WILL RAJPUT EXODUS NOW REPLENISH BJP?

Before the 2014 election, the BJP leadership is expecting a Rajput exodus from all parties in its favour. Vijay Bahadur Singh, who was recently expelled from the BSP for supporting Narendra Modi, is not the only Rajput set to join the BJP. The others who are in touch with the BJP president is Sanjay Singh, the Congress MP from Sultanpur, Akhilesh Singh, the independent MLA from Rae Bareilly. Rajnath Singh, is also in touch with the infamous Raja Bhaiyya. The nearly two-dozen Rajput MLAs in the Samajwadi Party who are feeling orphaned after Amar Singh’s exit from the party have now rallied behind Raja Bhaiyya. But after the SP stripped off Raja Bhaiyya from his ministerial post in the wake of the Kunda’s Muslim SP’s murder, a revolt seems to have broken out among the Rajputs in the SP despite the representation from all the Rajput MLAs.  Raja Bhaiyya has not been taken back in the ministry, giving the Rajputs a reason to revolt.

MEND WAYS TO GET PARTY TICKETS

The Congress ministers in Manmohan Singh cabinet, RPN Singh, Salman Khurshid, Pradeep Jain and Jitin Prasad are in serious trouble. The Rahul confidante general secretary and the new in charge of Uttar Pradesh Madhusudan Mistry, after his vigorous tour of the eight zones of UP, has lodged a complaint against these ministers. During his tours he was told that these ministers are unlikely to be reelected as they are most unpopular in their constituencies. One of the reason for their unpopularity is their inaccessibility in their constituency. Even when they come to Delhi, these ministers refuse to meet them. RPN, who is being projected by the Congress, is also unpopular in his own kurmi community.

Coming from a Jagirdar family, he considers it beneath his reputation to be known a kurmi leader and wants to get away as a Rajput. His mother contested the Assembly polls but lost badly from Padrauna. If the Congress goes by the complaints, these ministers may bot even get a party ticket. This is the warning Rahul Gandhi has given to all his MPs and these ministers in particular.
