Where Bollywood is a dish

Some recipes are not stuff that legends are made of, but Bollywood has shown us what magic it can create through memories. These dishes tie us to certain places with certain very strong memories. Films like Rang De Basanti, Dilli 6 and Band Baaja Baraat showed us what food from Delhi does to memories. Ranbir Kapoor gave us a Rockstar straight from the canteens of North Campus, over just two samosas, while Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma bonded over bread pakoras. Whether it is minced cutlet at St Stephen’s College or the Basketball Sandwich at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), most collegegoers not only crave for these dishes but also for the stories that grew around them with their friends and canteen crushes. Available at almost half the price compared to any Khan Market or Defence Colony restaurant, Delhi University canteen food has a special place in the heart of every Delhiite. We took a walk around the best canteens in North and South campuses.  Here’s to digging in!
