When music takes the stage

The third edition of Sufiana Rang gears up in the Capital. Organised by Artist in India, it is a musical jugalbandi between Indian and Pakistani Sufi singers. This edition will see performances by Sufi Brothers - Arman Ali and Imran Ali from Pakistan and Nizami Bandhu - Chand ,Shadab and Sohrab Nizami from India. The event will take place on March 28 at Kamani Auditorium.

Nizami Bandhu is a well-known Sufi Qawwali group in India composed of members of the Nizami family, which has ties with Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya and Hazrat Amir Khusro. Nizami Bandhu performs in cultural programs both in India and abroad. They belong to a 700-year-old tradition which is carried on by Ustaad Chand Nizami, Shadab Faridi Nizami and Sohrab Faridi Nizami. They are also known as the Nizami Brothers.

The Sufi Brothers have been famous for their performances of Qawwali, the devotional music of the Sufis. They possessed an extraordinary range of vocal abilities and could perform at a high level of intensity for several hours which  extends the 600-year old Qawwali tradition of their family.
