When a startup promotes fashion

It takes a lot of effort to dig extraordinary talent that is hidden amidst the huge crowd of talented people. 6Degree - A leading fashion talent and tech startup joined hands with Lakme Fashion Week, 2016, as its ‘Talent Partner for the 6Degree Show’ to introduce and promote three designers named Lalit Dalmia, Saroj Jalan, and ‘I AM Design’ by Pratik & Priyanka. They showcased their creations at the LFW 2016.

‘I AM Design’ by Pratik & Priyanka showcased the collection titled ‘INDIAN me FUSION’ inspired from the traditional Indian weaves and motifs. They recreated them in a non conformist way and thus fashioned a renewed interest for the conventional designs. Actor, Urvashi Rautela, show stopper for them was seen donning the beautiful silhouettes.

Lalit Dalmia’s collection was inspired by McQueen as he reincarnated silhouettes similar to that of his source inspiration. In his collection he maneuvered a mind blowing revival of McQueen era fused with his magnificent sense of Gothic cult. He fused a variety of emotions with the help of his intriguing colour palette such as blue, wine, peach and fuchsia.

Moving away from the fusion and gothe, Saroj Jalan showcased the collection themed ‘Sone Ki Chirya – India’.  Her collection depicted the celebration of the ethnic extravaganza of their rich and diverse chronicle. Mixed in the harmony of nature and traditional motifs, they have incorporated the essence of the ‘Rajsi Virasat’. She had highlighted the ensembles with patanpatola and had kept the silhouette line very simple yet very traditional using the vibrant hues of red, mustard, emerald and beige.

Nikhil Hegde, co-founder and CEO, 6Degree said: “6Degree has been a talent partner to fashion weeks across India and South Asia, enabling emerging designers to be able to showcase their skills to the world. In association with LFW, 2016, we have progressed to one of the most evolved and prestigious platforms of the country as our designers were very well received by the fashion fraternity. I genuinely feel that there are a lot of synergies that could be drawn at dedicated platforms such as LFW and we are working towards creating modules that can act as a catalyst for multiple fashion ecosystems.”

6Degree is conceived and created with a vision to provide talent in the fashion industry with a platform to showcase their creativity and to provide networking and business opportunities. With only 15 months since their launch, 6Degree had its own show at Lakme Fashion Week – India’s mecca for fashion.
