Weather gets extreme in Uttarakhand

As the Christmas and new year are fast approaching; the days are also turning colder in the state. The number of joggers has reduced in the famous Gandhi Park, FRI campus and Garhi Cantt area. In the day, the weather is clear and comfortable, but the mornings and evenings are chilly cold. The extremities of weather conditions of day and night are adding woes to Doonites. Although, the organizers of winter carnival in Mussoorie are expecting that slight snowfall will attract more tourists to the hill of queen.

Although, in the morning on Tuesday, there were some traces of clouds, but still no rainfall received so far in the winter months. Rainfall in winter considered to be good for agricultural production. In the last month, slight snowfall was reported in Kedarnath’s higher mountains and Pithoragarh region in Kumaon mandal also received slight snowfall. According to Anand Sharma, director of state metrological department, ‘major peaks are clear. The cosy weather conditions in the mountains inviting clear panoramic visions of the snow-capped Himalayan mountain ranges. This is the best time for national and international tourists.’
