We have to be at our best against KKR: Rohit Sharma

Lauding his team captain Harbhajan Singh for doing a tremendous job as skipper, Mumbai Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma Friday said his team has to be at its best Saturday in order to halt Kolkata Knight Riders' six-match winning streak in the Indian Premier League.

'The KKR has been playing good cricket throughout the tournament, especially on their home grounds. Our team needs to be at its best in order to beat them (KKR), there is no doubt about it. We have guys in our team who can just turn the match. Of course we all know where they (Kolkata Knight Riders) stand. But we, as team, as individuals, need to focus on the game,' said Sharma on the eve of the match.

He expressed his happiness for winning some of the close matches in the tournament.

'We are happy at the moment. We have done much better. We have lost a few close games, we have won a few close games. But that is again part and parcel of T-20 cricket. We have still four more games left which will decide where we will end up in the tournament.'

When asked about the importance of the upcoming game against KKR, Sharma said: 'It is important to win every game. At this point we are not looking at the league table. We know where we stand, it is important to go there and perform, rather than thinking of the league table. If we play good cricket we will finish were we want to, our focus is to perform.'

The right-hander lauded his captain Harbhajan Singh for doing a tremendous job as a skipper and keeping the atmosphere of the dressing room 'cool'.

'Every individual has got a different style of approaching the game. Sachin is cool and calm, Bhajji on the other hand is very aggressive. Bhajji is doing a very good job. Everyone in the team is supporting him. He has a very good job in keeping the atmosphere of the dressing room cool and calm,' he said.

Sharma said although the bowlers have done a great job, the batting department has not done so well.
