WBSEDCL provides 23,669 puja connections

Till Maha Sasthi, the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has provided 23,669 temporary puja connections in Bengal. 

For temporary connections, WBSEDCL met the demand of 325 MVA extra load. For the said connections, an amount of Rs 9.21 crore has been realised on account of security deposit. During the routine inspection at around 11,428 puja pandals throughout the state on Maha Sasthi & Maha Saptami, Regional and Divisional offices of WBSEDCL penalised 4,053 puja committees for illegal power consumption.

WBSEDCL officers have also claimed an amount of Rs 71.95 lakh from the puja committees for drawing 17,263.07 KVA. Around 1,388 LT mobile vans have been deployed to counter any fault/power disruption throughout West Bengal. Similarly, for HT Feeder maintenance, 655 mobile vans have been deployed for emergency purpose. 

On Maha Sasthi, the demand in WBSEDCL area was 5,700 MW, including the additional puja load.
