Wanted to be AN Air Force pilot: Ayub

He shared his feelings while he was in the city to promote his new show Phir Bhi Na Maane… Badtameez Dil that will soon be aired on Star Plus.  He plays the  character of Kuber Malhotra, a self-made business person. 

“I belong to a family that has made its mark in the industry but I was never interested in pursuing a career in acting. To get away from all this, I ran away to Jaipur where my sister stays with her family and learned their business of silver lining for six months but came back home when all my money was finished,” he affirmed.

While talking about the show and his journey in films and television sector, the nephew of veteran actor Dilip Kumar stated that the current generation is quite well informed and focused. 

They are aware of what is happening around them because of the internet and know what to do and how to do it.

Ayub who started his acting career with Salami have featured in films like Dil Chahta Hai, Lajja and many more. He was also part of various television shows like Uttaran and Ek Haseena Thi. He said that his role in Phir Bhi Na Maane… Badtameez Dil is quite a deviation from the roles he had been doing thus far, especially the negative roles. 

While talking about the show, he said that it is a musical show. 

“It is a journey about a boy who wants to take up music as a career, but being his father I am not quite happy with his decision,” he added.

Comparing the mediums of films and television, the actor said, “I feel that television is still restricted to family viewing while the youngsters prefer movies. In movies one can remember the best scenes ever but it is not same with television.”
