Walmart head tackles FDI issue in speech to Ansal University students

Raj Jain, President, Walmart India and CEO and managing director, Bharti Walmart India visited the Ansal University [AU] Campus on 25 September to deliver a lecture on the contemporary issue of FDI and shared his perspectives on retailing in India. He was welcomed by the vice chancellor of Ansal University, Raj Singh, and Pranav Ansal, vice chairman and managing director, Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Ltd.
The lecture was a part of the Platform Lecture Series 2012 organised by the Ansal University at Gurgaon campus. Jain delved on myths related to FDI and clarified the various nuances of FDI and its impact on India. He addressed the students about various key concerns related to FDI in retail. Raj Jain emphasised that FDI in retail is a great step forward to facilitate structural shift in the economy. It will bring along several benefits to all stakeholders across the value chain. The lecture was well received and generated an interesting question-answer session.
Platform Lecture series is organied every year by Ansal University. It is run under the aegis of Chiranjiv Charitable Trust, Ansal University and Sushant School of Art and Architecture and Sushant School of Design. This time, Raj Jain, president, Walmart [India] and MD and CEO, Bharti-Walmart Pvt.Ltd, was invited to interact with the students.
