W Bengal Joint Entrance Examination on May 17

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) will be held on May 17. Examinations on Biological Sciences, Physics & Chemistry and Mathematics will be held in three parts from 9 am to 5.30 pm, the results of which will be published on June 5.

Candidates can fill up the forms from January 5 while the last date of online filling up of applications and registration is February 29. The last date of document uploading is March 2 and for e-payment is March 5. If any candidate make an error during the filling up application form online can upload the correct information and certificate depending on the entrance board’s feedback from 7-12 March. The aspirants can download their admit cards from the www.wbjeb.nic.in on April 4.

There was a strong resentment among a section of medical and engineering aspirants as the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) Board has decided not to allow the candidates to see their answer after the result will be published.

For last five years the WBJEE Board had been allowing the candidates to see their answer sheets by uploading all the answer scripts of the successful candidates on their website for few days. Till last year the candidates could see their answer scripts on the board’s website. Various other boards in the country follow the same method of uploading the candidates’ answer scripts online so that they can have an idea of what mistakes they had done.

The WBJEE Board had fixed the examination in May this whereas in the examination is taken place in April this year. But the result of the examination has to be published in June. As a result of which this year the WBJEE Board will get less than a month to evaluate the answer scripts and other related processes.

The Board usually gets more than two months to conduct the procedure while in this year it will get half of a month to get the procedure done.

The candidates apprehend that there may be some errors during evaluation of the answer papers this year. There are around 60,000 candidates appearing in the Medical entrance examination while in the engineering entrance around 1,20,000 candidates will take part. So it is difficult to check all the answer scripts within less than half month, say a guardian of a candidate.
