Vote for secular party, not Cong: UP Muslim clerics
Calling Congress as more dangerous than BJP, Muslim clerics have appealed to the members of the minority community to vote for a secular party rather than Congress which has betrayed Muslims time and again.
‘Congress has ditched the Muslims in the past 65 years. Even BJP has survived due to its wrong policies,’ said Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawwad and Yahiya Bukhari, younger brother of Shahi Imam of Jama Maszid Ahmed Bukhari.
Addressing a press conference here, Maulana Jawwad said voting for Congress by the Shia community would mean 'betrayal' of the religion and insult to the 12th Iman. ‘Congress has demolished 7 mosques in Mehruali in Delhi and was solely responsible for the demolition of the Babri mosque in 1992,’ he said.
Bukhari too said that Congress has supported homosexuality in their manifesto and in Islam punishment of homosexuality is stoning to death.’ How can muslims vote for Congress for going against Islam,’ he questioned
However, Bukhari, who had supported Aam Admi Party (AAP) in Delhi did not comment on AAP's support to homosexuality. ‘Congress is more dangerous than BJP for the Muslims. BJP killed several hundred people in the Gujarat riots, but Congress has killed several thousand Muslims in almost every district of the country. BJP also came into existence much later than the Congress,’ he said.
Recently, Ahmed Bukhari has extended his support to the Congress and thereafter his brother Yahiya, based in Kanpur, has launched his tirade against the Congress.
