‘Vishal Bhardwaj’s films precious jewels for me’

With Kaminey and Haider, Vishal Bhardwaj has given Shahid Kapoor breakthrough roles in his career and the actor is on cloud nine for getting a chance to work with the director for the third time in Rangoon.

The upcoming period drama also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles.

The 34-year-old actor heaped praise on his co-stars, calling them “phenomenally talented”.

“I am very excited to be starring in Rangoon. Any film with Vishal Bhardwaj is like a precious jewel for me. So, I hope I can give him the character that he needs me to play.

That’s what I need to do and I am focusing on that,” Shahid told reporters here. “Saif and Kangana are phenomenally talented. Kangana has had an outstanding last couple of years and she is taking acting to another level and changing the benchmark for all of us. Saif is somebody, who did his best work (Omkara) with Vishal sir. He has got an amazing character in Rangoon,” he added.
