Virbhadra sues BJP leaders

Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh, on Thursday, filed a defamation case against senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley, former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and his sons BJP MP Anurag Thakur and Arun Dhumal. ‘I am not going to be cowed down by their threats and malicious propaganda. I firmly believe in the rule of law and truth and justice will prevail,’ Virbhadra Singh said after filing the case.

Virbhadra Singh said he filed a defamation suit as the Dhumals and Arun Jaitley had unleashed a malicious campaign ‘against me and my family members through media’. Therefore, I was compelled to file defamation case, he said.

Virbhadra Singh had filed the case after BJP leaders levelled allegations of corruption against him and questioned the personal loan secured from Vakamulla Chandershekhar and shares obtained from his companies.

‘I am not afraid of the slanderous onslaught by Dhumal and other BJP leaders and will face them boldly,’ he said.
