Vijay Jolly’s NGO holds talk on FDI

Delhi Study Group, a prominent NGO of India, led by former Delhi MLA  Vijay Jolly, organised a talk on ‘FDI and its impact on small traders’. The program was held at Old Meeting Hall, Town Hall, Chandni Chowk, Delhi-6.

The Chief Speaker at the program was Yashwant Sinha, Member of Indian Parliament and Former Union Finance Minister. While addressing the august gathering, he said, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail is a curse for small Indian traders. It will benefit big trading houses. Employment avenues in production sector shall decrease. Since Indian economy is service sector oriented, so self employment shall also suffer. FDI in infrastructure is acceptable. But in Indian retail sector it shall be disastrous for small Indian traders, said Sinha.
