Vedanta marks its 10th year on London SE

Indian metal tycoon Anil Agarwal on Thursday marked the 10th anniversary of Vedanta Resources’ listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) that has helped the company to raise billions of dollars for investments back home. The London-based founder and executive chairman of the Indian natural resources giant rang the official bell to open the LSE market for business.

‘It was 10 years ago when we needed capital to invest in India and the London listing has given us about a billion dollars to invest in India,’ Agarwal said at a special ceremony to mark the occasion. ‘On the back of it, in these 10 years we have raised almost USD 30 billion and most of the money has been invested in India,’ Agarwal said at the LSE soon after marking his company’s 10-year milestone.

‘London as a market has created real value for us and this is an amazing day for Vedanta,’ he added.
