Varun Gandhi gets bail

A local court in Pilibhit on Wednesday granted regular bail to BJP secretary and Lok Sabha member Varun Gandhi in case of hate speech registered on 28 March, 2009. The Chief Judicial Magistrate(CJM) Abdul Qayum gave the regular bail on personal appearance of Gandhi. The bail was granted on two sureties of Rs 50,000 each. Earlier the BJP leader was given interim bail on January 28 last when he surrendered before the CJM court in connection with the case.
According to the incident, case number 266/09 was registered against Varun and nine of his supporters at Kotwali police station here under section 147,148,307,427,376,332,120B,and 188 of the IPC,
