Valuables robbed from residence at Ekbalpore

Three unidentified miscreants fled with valuables and cash from a residence at Ekbalpore here on Monday night, police said.

Police said that three persons had entered Ashraf Ali’s house covering their faces with towels. They took away Rs 11,000 cash and jewellery worth more than Rs 1 lakh.  

Police said that the miscreants threatened Ali’s wife with dire consequences if she raised an alarm. They threatened to stab her with a knife and fled with valuables from her residence. 

Ali was not at home on Monday night as one of his relatives was admitted at a hospital. 

Police said the miscreants had locked the house from outside and fled. Ali’s wife kept silent after she was threatened by the miscreants. 

Her husband was shocked when he found the house locked from outside. He found his wife and children sitting at a corner of a room when he entered after breaking the lock. 

He informed the police and lodged a complaint on Tuesday morning. 

Police initiated a probe in this connection but they are yet to arrest anyone. 

Police also questioned some persons but they failed to give any clue about the miscreants. A police officer said it was confirm that someone well known to the family was involved with the miscreants and committed the crime.
