Uzbek woman murder case: Gagan owns up to murder of co-accused

In a fresh twist in the 27-year-old Uzbek woman murder case, the murderer confessed of killing the other Uzbek woman, Naaz, with whom the former had a monetary dispute involving Rs 8 lakh.
According to Gagan, who allegedly runs a sex racket in the city, was afraid that Naaz, who asked him to eliminate Shakhnoza Shukurova on September 24, is the only witness in the case who was aware that Gagan had killed Shukurova.

During intense interrogation, Gagan told the police that he has also killed Naaz and dumped her body in Sambhavali, near Hapur in UP.  After the confession,  Gagan led the police team to the spot where he had dumped Naaz’s dead body and burnt it in a similar way.

It was further learnt by the Special Task Force (STF) that the local police of Sambhavali have recovered an unidentified charred body on October 6 after which they have registered a murder case against an unknown person.

Gagan told the police that he took Naaz in his Indica car and killed her on October 4. He then dumped the body and burnt it.

The STF is now suspecting the involvement of more persons in the sex racket that was being run in the city for the past few years where Gagan, along with Naaz, used to traffick women hailing from Uzbekistan on the pretext of jobs. The duo used to keep their passports with them and when the victims demanded it back, they charged them money amounting to lakhs.

The matter came to light when a missing complaint of Shukurova was converted into an abduction case after her parents told the police about the suspects.

A few days ago, Delhi Police managed to arrest Gagan who confessed his involvement in the crime.

Earlier, he did not reveal that he had also killed Naaz, the prime suspect.
On late Thursday night, he told the police about Naaz’s murder after which Delhi Police contacted cops in Hapur and got the lead in the case. Further investigation is underway, the official said.
